Garda crackdown continues as they seize six cars at Clondalkin checkpoint
Gardai are continuing their crackdown on drivers who should not be on the road because of having no tax and/or insurance, no NCT on their vehicle or having no driving licence.
In the latest large-scale garda checkpoint, which took place on the outer ring road between Clondalkin and Tallaght, six vehicles were seized in a short period of time.

Set up by the Roads Policing Unit from Blanchardstown, the operation on Sunday saw a significant number of officers examine vehicles and question drivers.
The ongoing operations follow news last week that gardai in Ballyfermot seized a total of 735 vehicles in 2016.

Most of the vehicles were seized for having no NCT or tax, but the majority were a mix of bangers and former company vehicles.
Authorities attributed the increase in seizures with the high level of cheap cars available online and a lack of due diligence between sellers and buyers.
