Nica's solicitor, Michael Finucane told Judge David McHugh that the alleged injured party "is saying things about the case on Facebook".

Judge McHugh noted that a bill was going through the Oireachtas in relation to contempt.

He ordered that the injured party desist from such activity.

Daniel Nica allegedly assaulted Marius Popa and threatened to kill him.

Judge McHugh had previously accepted jurisdiction after hearing it will be alleged that Nica punched Mr Popa in the mouth, knocking one of his teeth out and then later made threats to kill him.

Nica, aged 41, with an address at Griffeen Glen Road, Lucan, is charged with assaulting Mr Popa causing him harm at an address at Liffey Vale, Liffey Valley Park, Clondalkin, on October 20, 2017.

He is also charged with making a threat to kill Mr Popa at the Clarion Gym, Liffey Valley, on December 4, 2017, and with making a threat to Alexandriu Mihaila to kill Mr Popa at the above address at Liffey Vale, on November 10, 2017.

The case was before Judge McHugh for a plea or a date for hearing.

Mr Finucane asked for a further remand. He said he wanted to go through the disclosure with his client.

Judge McHugh remanded Nica on continuing bail for a month for a plea or a date for hearing.
