Man fined €150 for stealing two vacuums

STEALING TWO vacuums landed a young man with a €150 fine.

Shane McDonnell, aged 21, with an address at Deansrath Lawn, Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to stealing two vacuums worth €119 from Lidl, Nangor Road, Clondalkin, on April 25, 2018.

Presenting Sergeant Maria Callaghan told Judge John Cheatle that on April 25 last, McDonnell entered Lidl and took the vacuums and left without paying for them. She said the two vacuums were worth €119.

The court heard that McDonnell has seven previous convictions. McDonnell’s solicitor, Simon Fleming, said his client wanted to apologise for his actions.

Convicting, Judge Cheatle fined McDonnell €150.
