Stole €500 designer watch from neighbour and tried to sell it to other neighbours

A WOMAN who stole a €500 designer watch from a neighbour and then attempted to sell it to her other neighbours was remanded for a probation report by Blanchardstown District Court.

Hearing Catriona Noctor’s case, Judge David McHugh said “you can’t get much lower” than stealing a watch from your neighbour and attempting to sell it to others.

Catriona Noctor, aged 29, from Old Tower Crescent, Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to stealing a Michael Kors watch worth €500 from a house at Old Tower Crescent on September 22 last.

She also pleaded guilty to stealing cosmetics worth €267 from Boots, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, on December 12, 2018.

Sergeant Maria Callaghan told Judge McHugh that on September 22 last, Noctor knocked on a neighbour’s door in Old Tower Crescent, Clondalkin, and asked for a light.

She said Noctor then took a Michael Kors watch from a windowsill. Sgt Callaghan said Noctor then attempted to sell the watch to some of her neighbours saying she had found it.

Sgt Callaghan said Noctor had been fined €20 for theft on December 12, 2017 and had a €100 fine for no insurance from May 5, 2017.

Noctor’s counsel, Jennifer Jackson Bl said her client was in financial difficulties and her house electricity and gas had been cut off.

Judge McHugh said: “You can’t get much lower than going into a neighbours house and stealing a watch.”

He remanded Noctor on bail to a date in January for a probation report.
