Council agree splash out on pool for Lucan

The issue received cross-party support with Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and Independent councillors raising the issue at Tuesday’s Area Committee Meeting.lucan leisure centre 1
Earlier this month residents started a petition and Facebook page dedicated to a pool for Lucan and the campaign has gained even more momentum with three motions supporting the facility passed during this week’s meeting.
Fine Gael councillors William Lavelle and Vicki Casserly saw their motion supported by other representatives which sought to form a sub-committee on swimming pool lending options.
Going forward, this committee will examine the financial options for building the pool by borrowing or part-funding the provision of a commercially operated Public Swimming Pool Facility in the area.
