Gardai in Lucan investigating reports of suspicious approach made to child

Gardai in Lucan are this evening investigating what they have described as a suspicious approach made to a child.

The incident is believed to have happened at approximately 7pm this evening in the Moy Glas estate.

Reports suggest an 11-year-old boy was approached by a man in the back garden of his home where he was playing.

It is believed the man grabbed the boy and forced him out the side entrance of the house before the child broke free and raised the alarm.

In a statement released to Echo.ie tonight, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Lucan are investigating a report of a suspicious approach on an 11-year-old boy that occurred in Moy Glas estate in Lucan this evening at approximately 7pm.”

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Lucan Garda station on 01-6667300.
