James sings loud and proud as match mascot

JAMES CASSERLY (11) from Lucan walked out as a mascot with the Republic of Ireland soccer team on Tuesday night in the Aviva Stadium. James who is a keen soccer player walked out with the assistance of his frame.

He was photographed singing the national anthem with gusto.

James’ mother Vicki told The Echo: “We are so proud of James tonight. He showed real pride in his nation. He strives to show his ability each and every day.

"We are fortunate the FAI and our local club Esker Celtic FC put so much effort in making soccer inclusive for all.

James has cerebral palsy, which affects his lower limbs, an autoimmune condition, and juvenile arthritis. It does not stop him from having an active life.

Just last October he completed the Dublin marathon in an assistance chair with Mark Lacey and he plays soccer regularly with the Esker Celtic frame football team.
