A committee made up of employees from businesses throughout Citywest and surrounding areas organise the event, which is fully supported by Citywest campus.

Organisers hope to reach the target of €20,000 to bring more children and families living with a serious illness to Barretstown.

The event starts and finishes opposite the DCU Ryan Academy, and the planned route should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.

Last year over 400 people took to the streets, but organisers hope to break the 500 mark this time out from as many companies based in the campus as possible.

A warm-up prior to the walk takes place at 12:45pm by Citywest Hotel and Leisure Centre.

Top raffle prizes on the day include a 52 inch TV, 39 inch TV, Miele Vacuum Cleaner, an Amica Microwave oven, and a Bosch Electric lawnmower.

A four-ball golf at Tulfarris Golf Resort PREM Group Hotels is up for grabs, the prize includes an overnight stay for two in a deluxe room including breakfast with a glass of bubbly.

Prem Group Hotels are also offering one nights bed and breakfast plus dinner in one of their hotels.

Tickets for the raffle are €2 each or €5 for three.

There will also be a competition for the best turnout for a small and large company, goody bags, treats and giveaways.

Registration for the walk is €15 at the Citywest Fun Walk 2018 website here.

The first 50 people to register receive a free pedometer.
