Investigating officers are seeking information on an assault that saw a man in his twenties hospitalised with serious facial injuries.

Garda are looking for two men in connection with the assault, which occurred on Abberley Square, just off the High Street.

One man is described as being in his early thirties and was dressed in a dark suit-style jacket with a grey scarf.

The man is described as being bald with a short Mohawk hairstyle, clean-shaven and around  5 ft 9 inches tall.

The second man is believed to be in his late twenties, with short dark hair and is described as being around 6ft in height.

Garda are hopeful that there may have been people in the area at the time who witnessed the incident or maybe have a recollection of the two men in question.
