By Echo Reporter

CLONDALKIN Tidy Towns (CTT) have a busy 2016 schedule with a number of projects in the pipeline.

The group have plans for a 1916 commemorative garden at Newlands, along with a biodiversity garden at the Camac river, next to the civic offices in the village.

Ronan Connolly, PRO for Clondalkin Tidy Towns said: “We have done some great work done over the last few weekends on Fonthill Road, Calbeck Way, and made a start at Boot Road. Anyone who can spare an hour on Saturdays is much appreciated.”

He continued: “CTT will return to Clondalkin Park and Leisure Centre this year for National Spring Clean 2016, on Saturday, April 16 at 10am. We are asking local community groups to join us on the day.

“Plans for a 1916 commemorative garden at Newlands are at an advanced stage, and it is hoped works will commence in early April with an expected official opening date of April 30.”

CTT have also developed plans for a biodiversity garden at the Camac – works due to commence in early April.
Members are looking for volunteers to help at the Clondalkin St Patrick’s Day parade, which starts at 3pm.

“If people can meet us before the parade starts, and some members can lend a hand as marshals,” said Ronan.

“Our work is not possible without the amazing help from our volunteers. If you would like to help us financially please contact us by email. All donations go back into making Clondalkin the great place it is to live and work in.”
