Permission is also being sought for the replacement of existing signage and for new signage, with provisions for a free-standing decorative sign to the entrance of the West End car park.

The submission includes plans for the extension of the public plaza to include external seating for the restaurants’ units.

It is proposed that two pavilion-type structures will be constructed to accommodate a new taxi office and the relocated shop mobility unit, a dedicated taxi-rank area and separate set-down areas.

There are plans to reorganise the car-park layout, with 14 mobility impaired parking spaces and an overall reduction of 49 car-parking spaces.

There are provisions for cycle stands, an electricity substation, plant and all ancillary site works associated with the development.

It is noted in the application that the proposed development will result in a net increase of 364 sq m restaurant use, to including a mezzanine of 180 sq m, 2,126 sq m of retail use and 366 sq m of circulation space within a three-storey structure.

A decision on the application has yet to be made by South Dublin County Council.
