The teenager was 15 at the time of the alleged offences and his cousins were 11 and eight years old.

The court had heard that the teenager allegedly put his finger in the vagina of the younger girl on four occasions and told her she would be harmed if she told anybody.

In relation to the older girl, the teenager allegedly touched her on her naked buttocks and her stomach when they were alone in his sittingroom on four occasions.

The 17-year-old, who has an address in Tallaght, had pleaded not guilty to  four counts of sexually assaulting a female between October 2016 and March 2017 and not guilty to four counts of sexually assaulting the female’s sister also on dates between October 2016 and March 2017 all at his address in Tallaght.

The teenager’s attendance had been excused and the case was before Judge McNamara for a hearing date to be set in the CCJ.

The State was represented by a Solicitor from the DPP and by Maurice Coffey Bl.

The teenager was represented by his solicitor.

Judge McNamara said that a hearing date had been set in Court 6 in the CCJ on September 26 next.

She added that as the Central Criminal Court usually sits in Court 6, the courtroom has the appropriate audio-visual facilities.

Judge McNamara adjourned the case to that date for hearing.
