Templeogue school propose vehicular and pedestrian entrances

ADDITIONAL information has been requested in relation to a proposed new permanent vehicular entrance to Bishop Galvin National School in Templeogue.

It is proposed that the new vehicular entrance will be located to the north-eastern side of the school, and will provide access from Orwell Road for emergency vehicles and access to a proposed on-site staff car park.

The relocation of the existing pedestrian entrance to the north-eastern corner westwards along the northern boundary to create a new pedestrian entrance from Rossmore Road also forms part of the application for planning permission.

It is noted in the application that a previous application with the intention of reinstating a temporary vehicular access point will now be superseded by the school’s current application.

It is proposed that five trees will be removed to facilitate the new vehicular entrance, three of which are located on the grass verge on Orwell Park and two of which are on the school grounds.

There are provisions for the construction of a new staff car park, providing 15 car parking spaces, and modifications to the school’s internal footpath network.

South Dublin County Council requested additional information on the application on August 10, the applicant must submit the additional information within six months of the council's decision date.

If the additional information is not received within the six month period then the application will be considered withdrawn.
