Residents angry at plans for pitches

A PROPOSAL was submitted by Lucan United Football Club for the new all weather facility in May and earlier this month the council gave the go ahead for the plan.

Residents from the estate have opposed the plan from the beginning citing traffic, noise and floodlight issues arising from the facility.

Noirín and Gareth Fitzpatrick lodged their submission along with other neighbours after encountering a number of problems with the current facility.

In one incident the couple were forced to halt a football match and ask the referee to move his vehicle which was blocking their driveway during the game.
