Apology: Garda Michelle McGuinness

In the www.echo.ie on 9th May 2017 we published an article in relation to the trial involving seven men charged with falsely imprisoning Ms Joan Burton TD, which trial is taking place at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

The original article, mistakenly stated that in response to a question that if rocks had been thrown at the vehicle containing Ms Burton TD that it would have been noted in Garda McGuinness’s statement, Garda McGuinness had answered “no comment”.

In fact Garda Mc Guinness’s answer was “that’s not correct”. We have corrected the story on www.echo.ie.

We are happy to correct the record and apologise to Garda McGuinness for any upset or distress caused by the initial publication of inaccurate information”.
