Bank of Ireland host Enterprise Towns in Moyle Park College

BANK of Ireland has announced that its Enterprise Town initiative is coming to Clondalkin  this September.

There will be two Enterprise events taking place in Clondalkin. The first of these is a bond trader event for the three local village Secondary Schools, taking place in Colaiste Bride on Friday, September 29 from 11am to 1pm.

School Principal Marie Therese Kilmartin will open the event, and Bernard Walsh, Head of Pension & Investments, Bank of Ireland Life will be host on the day. 

The second Enterprise initiative event will take place in Moyle Park College, Clondalkin on Saturday, September 30 and will feature a Business, Community and Sports Expo as well as plenty of family friendly activity.

The Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town events have been organised by the Bank in partnership with the local community of Clondalkin.    

Bank of Ireland is investing in excess of €1.2 million in its Enterprise Town initiative in 2017. Following the success of the Enterprise Town Programme in 2016, which involved 100 communities across the country, Bank of Ireland has confirmed that over 120 Enterprise Town events will take place nationwide in 2017.

The initiative aims to promote enterprise and drive momentum for local businesses and the wider sports and social community by connecting residents with all the town has to offer.

Events are free to attend and are open to both customers and non-customers of Bank of Ireland.  

The Clondalkin Enterprise Community Event in Moyle Park College will take place from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, September 30.

The event is being run in conjunction with Moyle Park College’s 60th Anniversary Celebration.

The event will feature a Business to Business session from 11am to 12pm featuring Gavin Lawlor of The Irish Fairy Door Company & John Lynch of Acutrace and a Business, Community & Sports session from 12 - 3pm. 

Speakers on the day will include Irish broadcasting legend Michael O’Muircheartaigh and there will be a sports panel interview with  Jim Gavin, Dublin Football Manager,  Hannah Tyrell, Irish Rugby International Player and Bernard Dunne, Former Irish World Boxing Champion. Other speakers on the day include past pupils of Moyle Park College. Over 80 businesses will be exhibiting at the event.

Entertainment on the day will be provided by the Clondalkin Youth Band; Irish Dancers, Aras Chronain and the Moyle Park Taiko Drummers.

Other highlights of the event include: yoga for the active retired, reeling in the years music extravaganza, TY business networking, Round Tower celebrating opening of new heritage centre, Coding Club For Kids, 60th anniversary of the school celebrations with the Marist brothers who opened the school and speed networking between TY students of the college and local businesses.

“We would encourage local businesses and the wider community to come and share in activities on Friday the 29th September and Saturday 30th September. I would like to thank the Enterprise Town Committees and all those involved in helping to organise and exhibit at these events.”
