Do you know your Basilisks from your Hippogriffs? SDCC hosting Harry Potter quizzes…

DO YOU know your Basilisks from your Hippogriffs? Or even your Lumos spell from your Nox spell?

Well South Dublin County Council is giving local primary schools the chance to flex their Harry Potter knowledge and enter quizzes being held in Tallaght, Lucan, Clondalkin and Ballyroan libraries.

This is the perfect opportunity for Harry Potter fans out there to show just how big of a fan they are, as they along with their schoolfriends can band together in teams of six and represent their school at local libraries this month.

South Dublin County Council has urged all local schools to enter teams that have a good knowledge of the now legendary JK Rowling series, with the local authority promising a day of great fun as the halls of Hogwarts seemingly come to life.

Each of the libraries will hold heats, with students in fourth to sixth class being invited to enter in teams of up to six for the chance to lift a House Cup among other prizes at the grand final on the day of Harry Potter Book Night.

Tallaght Library’s heats will take place on Monday, January 28 from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Schools interested in booking a place can email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 014630073.
