Driver has lucky escape after car bursts into flames

A driver had a lucky escape this morning after the vehicle they were driving burst into flames.

The motorist was passing through Belfield in UCD when they detected a problem with the car earlier.

The driver quickly pulled in and got out of the car before calling the emergency services.

Dublin Fire Brigade responded and dealt with the blaze, which destroyed the vehicle.

DFB shared an image of the car and said: “A quick thinking driver in Belfield pulled in after detecting a problem. If you suspect something, pull in, get out, call us out.”
