eBeauty - POP of Colour

Hey everyone, welcome back to this week’s eBeauty Blog where I will focus on all things colour.

Like last week’s feature, this topic is all about encouraging you to add a ‘POP of colour’ into your makeup routine coming into the Summer months.

Including a step – by – step video and some info on what products I use and why, you will be experts in spicing up your everyday Summer makeup routine.

Skin

Summer is here and everyone is dying for that summer glow! If you like super dewy, healthy looking skin Mac Strobe Cream is the product for you. Wear on its own for no makeup days or as a primer underneath foundation for the most gorgeous glow.

Another product I picked up during the week that I am loving is the NYX Tinted Skin Veil. It is similar to a BB cream, and again can be worn on its own or under foundation as one of its main jobs is to even out skin tone and reduce redness which will come I handy for those of us who can burn easily.

Glow

If you prefer a more matte, natural glow then the best way to achieve this is through your powder products like blusher, bronzer and highlight. Mac ‘Just A Pinch’ blusher has been my favourite so far this summer. This product is almost a hybrid between blush and highlight, its peachy tones adds colour and life and gives a healthy shine to the skin.

Bronzer

In the warmer months, I prefer to use products that will enhance tan/glow. Mac ‘Give Me Sun’ is my favourite bronzer to have in my Summer makeup bag. It is the perfect peachy tan that I love to dust over my cheekbones, temples and nose to create a lighter contour.

Eyes

When it comes to shadows, I would suggest sticking to warmer toned browns, oranges, peaches for the eyes. This creates a monochromatic look between the eyes and cheeks and will complement each other so well. Revolution’s Reloaded palette has a great variety of warm mattes and shimmers, but sometimes, I just use the same bronzers and blushes I had used on the face as shadows, they work just as good!

One thing that I’ve come to love doing is popping a bright coloured liner into the waterline. From white to blue, adding a pop of colour into the waterline will open up the eyes and brighten up the look. My new favourite bright liners are the NYX Off Tropic liners, a range of tropical colours that have amazing colour pay off.

Lips

My two go-to lip colours are either a peachy nude or a hot orangey red. Both look so well against a summer glow. My fave peachy nude is Urban Decay’s Insanity and my fave hot red is Morphe’s Hot Shot.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s summer inspired eBeauty Blog. I would love to see any recreations of your ‘POP of Colour’ looks. You can tag me on Insta @sophieskmakeup or email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
