Gardai uncover meth lab in Clondalkin and seize quantity of the drug

Gardai believe they have uncovered an apparent chemical mixing laboratory in Clondalkin after they searched a house in the area on Wednesday.

An amount of methamphetamine was also seized by officers at the address.

A man and woman will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning in relation to the discovery and the seizure of the methamphetamine.

Both the man and woman are aged in their 30s.

In a statement released to Echo.ie a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí seized methamphetamine (Pending analysis & no valuation at present) and discovered an apparent chemical mixing laboratory at a house in Clondalkin on Wednesday at approximately 11:00 am.

“A man and woman aged in their 30s are due to appear before the Criminal Court of Justice this morning, 28th October 2016 at 10:30am.”

The search of the house began on Wednesday morning at around 11am, and a large number of officers could be seen entering the property in protective clothing throughout the day.
