Great news for Crumlin swimmers as pool reopens
By Aura McMenamin
The Crumlin swimming pool has reopened, with more swimming times available to the public.
Earlier this month, the pool in Pearse Park was discovered to be losing large quantities of water, according to Dublin City Council (DCC).
The pool was closed for nine days in order for council engineers to undertake numerous tests on the cause of the leak.
People Before Profit councillor Pat Dunne confirmed that the pool, which was mainly open to sports clubs and schools, would be reopen today.
Writing on Facebook he said he would table a motion for more public usage hours, saying: “I, alongside Cllr. Ray McHugh, have put down a motion for the Dublin South Central Area committee meeting which takes place this Wednesday demanding more public hours and a better usage of the facility.”
“I will publish the response upon receipt of it. In the meantime enjoy the summer opening hours see timetable attached.”
