Have you spotted any of these incredible looking mushrooms growing in Corkagh Park?

NB: Unless you have prior knowledge of which mushrooms are safe to eat never, ever pick or eat any!

If you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise, but what if you go to your local park?

Liz O’Neill from Clondalkin regularly trains in Corkagh Park, and over the last few weeks she has been sharing some incredible images of the mushrooms which grow there.

This time of year is a foragers dream, and among the man blackberry bushes bursting with ripe fruit, there is a world of fungi ripe for picking.

That being said, we would advise the public to look at them rather than pick them unless you know exactly what you’re looking for.

Liz even made some delicious soup from some of the mushrooms she had picked, which include the common field, puff ball and shaggy ink varieties.

Some of the wide selection captured on camera by Liz look incredible, and we just had to share them with you all.

Added to this, Liz was also busy picking blackberries recently, and we are told the resulting jam tastes amazing.
