Heartwarming video shows Tallaght locals helping elderly man during Storm Ophelia

In a week when students from Tallaght Community School did the area proud by becoming the first school in Ireland to speak directly to the International Space Centre, this video of local people helping an elderly man during Hurricane Ophelia further emphasises how amazing Tallaght and its people really are.

Sent to us by Danny Kane, the video shows a group of people helping the man, who was using a walking aid, around the corner of a building and out of the strong winds that battered the country on Monday.

The man had come out of the wrong exit in a nearby apartment block, and suddenly found himself faced with strong winds.

In true Tallaght style, it was not long until locals came to his aid, giving him a helping hand around the corner and out of Ophelia’s path.

Well done to all involved.
