The family of murdered man Michael McCoy (64) have reached out to the public in the hope of finding a beloved pet, their Boxer dog FIA, who has been missing since the tragic events unfolded in Ballinascorney on Thursday.

A cash reward has this morning been offered for any information on Fia’s location.

Mr McCoy was out walking with his dogs on Thursday at Ballinascorney Hill when he sustained fatal injuries due to an assault

His body was discovered in a wooded area in Ballinascorney on Friday morning by a search and rescue crew.

Meanwhile the search continues for one of Mr McCoy’s dogs, Fia who has been missing since the attack.

Another family dog, also with Mr McCoy at the time of the assault, returned to the family home.

Several members of the McCoy family have taken to social media in an attempt to find Fia, with Kirstin McCoy, a niece of the murdered man, pleading with Twitter users to share images and videos of the dog.
