Met Eireann forecasts freezing temperatures

MET Eireann has forecast that temperatures in the Dublin region will fall close to freezing tonight, with a risk of frost and icy patches.


According to Met Eireann, maximum temperatures reached just 4 or 5 degrees celsius today, with the status yellow warning issued on Monday for snow-ice remaining in place until 7pm tonight.

In its Dublin forecast for tonight, Met Eireann said: "Temperatures will fall close to freezing, with a risk of frost and icy patches on untreated surfaces."

The RSA has advised people to be mindful while travelling on the roads, issuing advice for people driving in icy conditions.

At 8pm tonight, temperatures in Tallaght are expected to reach 1 degree celsius and will remain that cold until 9am tomorrow morning, Wednesday.

Met Eireann has said it will stay quite cold and mainly dry tomorrow, Wednesday, with bright or sunny spells expected.
