One man hospitalised as driver flees scene of accident in Tallaght

A man was taken to hospital last night after the vehicle he was travelling in was involved in a two-car collision on the Blessington Road, with the other driver fleeing the scene.

The car belonging to the driver who fled the scene was found abandoned a short distance away.

The collision occurred on the Blessington Road at the Topaz garage, adjacent to the entrance to De Selby, while the abandoned vehicle was found off the road at the junction with the Citywest Road.

In a statement released to, a garda spokesperson said: “Gardai at Tallaght attended a two car Road traffic collision, which occurred on the Blessington Road last night at approximately 9pm.

“A man in his 30’s was taken to Tallaght Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“The second car fled the scene and was found abandoned not far from the scene.

“No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.”
