The Kondoors are coming- Bringing great music to Whelan’s

By Tiana Binns

Music promoter and organiser for music booking agency lekmk, Phil Kealy from Tallaght, often organises shows for music artists and bands around Dublin.

In February, however, Phil has booked popular UK duo, The Kondoors, to perform at Whelan’s on Wexford Street.

The band will be performing on Thursday night, February 13 at 8 o’clock.

The Kondoors are a unique duo that blends the sounds of Soul, RnB and Pop music in their songs.

The two lead singer songwriters, Jessica Greenfield and Gavin Conder, are well established in the music community, with Jessica also being a member of English rock band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Both artists have supported and worked with big names such as Paul Weller, Bryan Adams, E Street band’s Steve Van Zandt, Dire Straits, John Illsley, Sam Smith, Rod Stewart, Rudimental, Imelda May and Take That.

They have also been heard across local radio stations, including Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music.

Phil organises the performances he brings to Dublin through his music booking agency, lekmk. Lekmk promotions books everything from bands looking for a gig to company’s planning a night out.

They are a company that is, “passionate about music, passionate about the bands, venues and clients we work with on a daily basis and strive to deliver excellence from the very first point of contact”.

“We work with a lot of tribute bands and have done a lot to promote bands from Tallaght over the years. We try to give them a platform to get themselves out there, so we really are on the ground doing all that we can to support musicians,” Phil said.

Phil is prominent in the Tallaght music community and his agency lekmk works hard to bring new music to the Dublin scene.
