TV3’s ‘Blind Date’ proved a hit with audiences last night as 266,000 on average tuned in to see funnyman Al Porter play matchmaker to some of Ireland’s most hopeful singletons!

With lots of cheesy one-liners, the first episode of the iconic dating show reached over 550,000 viewers across the hour, with viewing peaking at 307,000.

According to TV3, the show was also particularly popular with younger audiences, winning its timeslot for viewers under 45 with an audience share bigger than RTE1 and RTE2 combined.

The frivolous fun and obligatory cringey moments of the show also got the nation talking as #BlindDateIRL trended number one right across the hour.

If you missed a lora lora laughs as Al filled the shoes of the legendary Cilla, catch up on the first episode of Blind Date now on 3player.
