Coyne, who also finished fifth in the 50m Breaststroke at the Youth Olympics in Argentina, is in among the contenders for ‘The Echo 2018 Sports Star of the Year’ Award.

Yet, next up for her will be a trip to China for the World Short Course Championships in which she will be the youngest member on the Ireland squad.

Templeogue, which retained the Swim Ireland Clubmark Award, has seen its membership continue to grow across all sections of the club year-on-year.

Indeed, the club was represented by very strong numbers at all national and regional competitions throughout the season.

They boasted three athletes on Irish National Squad that attended the  Luxembourg International in Leah Martin, Cara Osing and Ellen Walshe.

The latter won gold at the World Schools Championship in May and set Irish Junior records in the Girls 50m, 100m and 200m while also teaming up with clubmates Osing, Martin and Robyn Lynch to register a national best time in the 200m MTR.

What’s more Templeogue saw a total of 49 athletes qualify for Irish National level competitions in Division One and Two in 2018- the largest in the club’s history.

Indeed, in the Irish Summer Championships they recorded 87 PB’s, 55 Top-10 finishes, six gold, 14 Silver and eight bronze, while in the Irish Division Two Championships they carded 45 PB’s, 17 Top-10 finishes, four Gold, five silver and one bronze.
