Templeogue Swim Team in another tremendous show

TEMPLEOGUE Swim Club made a sizeable impact at the Irish Open Swimming Championships at the NAC recently.

Fielding 10 athletes in the event, the club saw Ellen Walshe set two new Irish Junior records in the 50m and 100m Butterfly while retaining her 200m Butterfly National title for the third year with a time of 2:15.93 that was under the consideration time for the European Junior Championships.

In addition Walshe finished first in the Junior 100m BC and fourth in the 400m Individual Medley Open Final before combining with Cara Osing, Robyn Lynch and Alie Martin to take fourth place in the Girls Open Relay Final.

Sean McNicholl, who is based overseas but registered for Templeogue, also enjoyed a great run in the competition with personal bests in all his events including a new Irish Junior record in the 50m BF.

He also landed silver in both the 50m Butterfly and 50m BC along with bronze in the 100m BC.

Cara Osing will be very much encouraged by her form in the Open, taking silver in the 800m FC and bronze in the 400m FC while also making Open Finals in the 200m FC and 100m FC as well as the Junior Final in the 200m FC.
