Tallaght triplets get behind boys in blue for decider

By Mary Dennehy

TALLAGHT triplets Lenny, Ted and Bruce donned their blue for the All-Ireland football final last Sunday, when they wore the first piece of clothing bought for them by their parents – a Dublin jersey.

Lenny, Ted and Bruce were born in the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, to parents Chris Deasy and Ali O’Leary on August 2.

Both parents are members of Thomas Davis GAA Club – Chris, originally from Dominics, plays for the Kiltipper Road side’s intermediate team while Ali, who hails from Springfield, plays for the club’s Junior Ladies.

Now living in Elder Heath with their four-year-old daughter Georgia, Chris and Ali were on the ball when it came to dressing their new arrivals.

“When we found out we were having triplets, the first thing we bought were three little Dublin jerseys,” mam Ali told The Echo.

“We had the jerseys before we even knew Dublin would be in the final.”

Now over one month old, the three little lads are still being cared for in Holles Street.

However, mam Ali said that her little team of baby boys is doing really well and may be home for the All Ireland final replay on Saturday, September 14.

“They’ll be back in their jerseys for the 14th [of September],” Ali said.

“I’ve also applied for my ticket to the match, so I’m hoping I might get into it myself.”

Dublin will once again meet Kerry in Croke Park for the football final replay at 6pm on Saturday, September 14.
