The Echo 2019 Amateur Sports Awards were launched in the Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure with fellow sponsors South Dublin County Sports Partnership and South Dublin County Council also back on board for another exciting year, celebrating great sporting achievements in our community.

Sean Cox GAA charity match presentation

The Echo spoke with Peter Cox, brother of Liverpool fan Sean Cox, who was attacked on his way to a Champions League game against Roma last April. 

The Cox family were presented with a €5,200 cheque from Round Tower Clondalkin following a charity match. Peter praised the Clondalkin community for their support and the fans of Liverpool FC and Official GAA.

Children in Tallaght will receive free books every month through a new programme launched this week by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Childhood Development Initiative.
