Public urged to get involved with Handcraft & Horticultural Show

By Maurice Garvey

ORGANISERS are hoping members of the public will get involved in an online version of the 2021 Clondalkin Handcraft & Horticultural Show (CHHS).

This year’s show is online due to Covid-19 but there will be no entry fee, and residents are encouraged to send in photographs of their entry to be in with a chance of winning prizes.

Cllr Francis Timmons, Chairperson CHHS, said they will use archive photographs from the 2019 launch as they cannot meet up at this moment in time.

“Sadly we can’t meet in person so the only safe option is to have the show online for 2021. We have had to cut some categories out but there is still loads for people to enter,” said Cllr Timmons.

“I look forward and am hopeful that the show will return to Newlands home and Garden centre and Áras Chrónáin in 2022.

“This show is an opportunity to showcase all the wonderful skills we have in South Dublin.’’

Entry forms are available online on CHHS Facebook, Instagram pages and by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

To enter, supply two clear photographs - one of the item on a plain white background and another of the entrant holding the item.

This is to prove the entrant is the creator, and this photograph will be deleted after the show.

Judges will be sent only the photograph of the item.

CHHS are accepting entries after the launch date and up until June 26. Judging will take place the following week and winner will be announced on July 3.
