Dan shortlisted for Red Cross Young Humanitarian Award

A LUCAN resident is one of three people shortlisted for the Young Humanitarian Award in the Red Cross Humanitarian Awards on December 15.

Pakistani native Dan Khan has been involved in activism.

He completed a two-year tenure at the US Embassy in Ireland.

He campaigned for refugee communities in Italy and self-initiated ‘Project Let’s Move Forward’ – an online certificate career progression programme, which allows students to take relevant courses from several top global institutions.

A fourth year medical student at Trinity College, Dan received training alongside UN peacekeepers, engaging as a civilian for peace support operation training exercises.

This year’s winners will be honoured at a virtual ceremony on December 15 at 7pm hosted by journalist and broadcaster Sybil Mulcahy.
