Gardai again issue warning after dog rescued from car in soaring temperatures

Gardai have again issued a warning to dog owners after they were called to rescue a pooch from a car today.

Several incidents of pet owners leaving their dogs in vehicles on extremely warm days have been reported in recent weeks, and Gardai have urged people to “never lock animals in cars”.

Officers were alerted to the dog in the vehicle by eagle-eyed members of the public at a shopping centre earlier today.

Thankfully they were able to remove the dog, with Gardai saying: “Eagle eyed public at S/Centre alerted Gardaí to dog locked in car in todays soaring temp. He was ok after a drink! Never lock animals in cars.”
