Gardai catch Cloverhill escapee

A MAN who escaped from Cloverhill Prison two weeks ago has been apprehended in Crumlin.

The 36-year-old from Crumlin escaped on June 13 last while waiting to appear at Cloverhill District Court, which is located on the grounds of Cloverhill remand prison in Clondalkin.

He had been due to appear in court on robbery charges.

He was waiting in the cells adjoining the courthouse when he walked out of his unlocked cell.

He went through the court building and exited through the front door. Gardai carrying out searches in Crumlin arrested the man on Monday and escorted him to court.
