Schools and sports clubs benefit from Intel programme

A NUMBER of schools and sports clubs in South Dublin county have benefitted from the 2016 Intel Matching Grant initiative,

The programme encourages Intel employees to engage in their communities by supporting non–profit organisations and schools.

Matching Grant initiative

For every hour that is volunteered by an Intel employee at a school or qualified non–profit organisation, a donation of €10 is paid from the Intel Foundation.

Up to 31 organisations in Dublin received an average of over 4k from the fund.

Among those who benefitted are the Ballyfermot Club for Physically Disabled, Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada, Lucan, Good Counsel GAA Club, Drimnagh, Lucan United Football Club, Scoil Naomh Aine, Clondalkin, and St Patrick’s GAA, Palmerstown.

In 2016 Intel employees volunteered over 54,000 hours for 124 recipient organisations in Ireland.

Employees were recognised for these efforts at an event held at the Intel campus in Leixlip which was attended by Mayor of Kildare Ivan Keatley along with representatives from recipient organisations.

Eamonn Sinnott, Intel Vice President and General Manager of Intel Ireland said: “Our employees have once again demonstrated a remarkable commitment to a variety of organisations and have made a real difference to their communities by volunteering both their time and expertise.

“I am proud to to share in their achievements and to acknowledge their contributions through the presentation of these grants.”
