BREAKING: All schools to remain closed on Tuesday due to Storm Ophelia

All schools will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday October 17.

The announcement comes from the Department of Education in relation to the Storm Ophelia.

It is understood that the decision has been made as demands on emergency services begin to increase across the country.

Minister for Education, Richard Bruton has confirmed the news.

He said: “Following careful consideration by the National Emergency Coordination Group, the Department of Education and Skills, has decided that all schools will remain closed tomorrow.”
