Driver injured during post van robbery

GARDAI are investigating the unauthorised taking of a post van in the Jobstown area at lunchtime today.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:50pm, at Cloonmore Lawns, Tallaght.

A Garda spokesperson told The Echo: "A male worker in his 40s was delivering a package in the area when a male suspect entered the unattended delivery vehicle and drove away. The worker received minor injuries when attempting to prevent the suspect from driving off.


"He was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The delivery vehicle was recovered a short distance away. A number of items had been removed from their packaging."

No arrests have been made to date but anyone with information is encouraged to contact Tallaght Garda Station at 666 6000.
