You are getting ready for a night out on the town, you’re putting your makeup on and decide a bit of liner would be nice.

Then the pressure gets too much, you smudge your creation away and opt for a smokey eye because of your failed attempt.

There is no better time to perfect a winged liner than lockdown. Nobody’s zoom camera quality is good enough to tell whether your eyeliner is straight and neat or not.

Here are some simple, easy to follow eyeliner steps.

Step 1 1

Step 1:

Conceal your eyelid, then apply powder on top. Powder will ensure your liner wont transfer to your upper eyelid when you open your eyes.

Step 2 1

Step 2:

Using a sharp brush or eyeliner pen, draw a thin short line following the direction of your lower lash line towards the end of your eyebrow.

Step 3 1

Step 3:

Start your top line a quarter of the way in on the first line you did. Then bring it in towards your lash line.

Step 4 1

Step 4:

Colour in the blank space.

Step 5 1

Step 5:

With a flat concealer brush, swipe under your wing to ensure it’s clean and sharp.

Step 6 1

Step 6:

Finish with some mascara.

If you don’t think your liner is straight and you need more practise, pop a bit of brown eyeshadow on a small blending brush and swipe it across your liner. You now have a sultry smokey liner effect which is very wearable.
