Grants to brighten up shopfronts!

THE Shopfront Grant Scheme programme has been launched once again this year by South Dublin County Council with a grant of up to a maximum of €8,500 available.

How the scheme works is that the council pay 50 per cent of costs and the shop owner pays the other half of the approved costs.

Business owners/operators of independently owned shops fronting onto public streets are eligible to apply for the grant.

The shopfront improvement works ranged from something as simple as painting to completely replacing your shopfront.

You could also be in with a chance of winning the annual Best Designed Shopfront competition of €1,000 which was won last year by The Temple Hair & Beauty in Templeogue.

Applications for the grants must be received prior to the commencement of works via email, post or online at business/enterprise/business-support/shop-front-grant.

The grant is payable upon completion of works and final inspection by the council.
