Loaded firearm and €20,000 worth of cannabis seized by Gardai

A LOADED firearm and €20,000 worth of cannabis, pending analysis, was seized by Gardai following a search of a house in the Ballyfermot area.

Detective Gardai attached to Ballyfermot Garda Station conducted a search of the house on Thursday and one person was charged and brought before the courts.

Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy who has responsibility for policing in Dublin West commended the Gardai for their excellent work and dedication to making Ballyfermot a safer community to live in.

“Ballyfermot is a wonderful part of Dublin city, full of great people who are proud of their community and who are willing to work really hard to continue to improve the area so that everyone, young and old can be proud of the area that they live in and that they are part of.

“Local Gardai are also part of that community and we have a really important role to play in keeping our community safe.”
