Man shot in Cherry Orchard last night

A MAN was hospitalised following a shooting in Cherry Orchard on Thursday night.

The shooting happened at around 8.05pm at Cherry Orchard Parade.

The victim, believed to be in his early 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Cllr Daithí Doolan said: "Residents deserve better than gun violence. I am calling on all political representatives to work together with gardai to ensure gun crime is tackled head on. Cherry Orchard families must be allowed to live, work and play in safety.

"Last night’s shooting will not deter this community from working to make Cherry Orchard a better home for all residents."
