The App has a huge variety of businesses that are offering discounts of up to 45% off for staff such as Gardai, HSE, Nurse’s, Fire Services and Coastguards.

Speaking to The Echo, Joe said the app has exceeded expectations in its short amount of time.

“We are only going 12 weeks. It started with the emergency services and since we have been doing a good bit on social media, we were ranked 50th in the download charts last week which was great without even officially launching.

“We had a list of 32 associations to start off with, but now we have had everyone on to us asking can we add them because they are considered frontline workers.”

The businesses that get on board with the ESDA App can choose the discount they allow people to avail of and can change this at any time. Currently, the App has over 500 businesses with discounts ranging from 2%-45%.

“We sell ads on the app, it is a business. I have 12 staff and as I said we have only started but the response has been absolutely fantastic.

“We sell the ads for as cheap as we can, and they look great. We also do a mini web page on our website for them as well, so even if anyone googled them next week, they would see that they are on the emergency services site supporting staff and that can help them as well.

“We link to all the associations on social media as well so once a company comes on-board, we put the ad up on our social media pages”, Joe explains.

“There is good savings to be made for the frontline staff and emergency services, and I think with the pandemic going on we are getting a fantastic response.”

The businesses that are offering the discounts range in anything from plumbers to local shops and solicitors, dry cleaners, takeaways and much more. The full list of discounts can be found on the website,

The ESDA App is available to download on the app store or play store. ESDA.
