Satisfying Salsa - Big Brother winner Brian teams up with Laura

By Leopold Herter

Lucan dancer Laura Nolan partnered up with Big Brother winner Brian Dowling on Sunday’s run of Dancing with the Stars to dance a salsa to ‘Juice’.

Brian enjoyed the dance and praised Laura’s creativity, he said: “You don’t want to be disappointing your partner, she has so much creativity and vision – dancing is not easy.”

Salsa is one of Laura’s specialities, as she is well trained not just in Latin dancing, but also in ballroom and ballet.

The producers of the show wanted the talented dancer to be part of the show since its beginning, but had to wait, due to her work at an international circus.

Now, in the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars, Laura is finally part of the series.

The 25-year-old said, she is “delighted to be part of such an amazing team and production”.

Regardless of her young age, Laura can already look back at a lot of achievements, including ending up as a finalist of the Under 21 World Championship in her late teens and the winner of the World Open in Copenhagen last year, her father Brian told The Echo.

In addition to that, Laura is undefeated at the Irish nationals since she is eight years old.

With her dance partner scoring 16 points on Sunday’s show, Laura can be delighted about her debut on the show.

But the show must go on with Laura and Brian starting training again the day after the show.

They now have a week to practice before going on stage again, as this week will show all the female celebrities with their male dance partners, such as Clondalkin’s Mary Kennedy, who dances with John Edward Nolan from Kilkenny.
