SDCC opens online Book of Condolence for Holohan family

SOUTH Dublin County Council has opened an online Book of Condolence to allow people living within the county to express their sympathies to the family of Dr Emer Holohan (Feely).

Dr Holohan, passed away in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, on Friday, February 19, following a long illness.

The wife of Tony Holohan, the Chief Medical Officer, Emer was in the company of her husband and their children Clodagh and Ronan when she passed peacefully.

Due to current Government guidelines, a private funeral took place in St Pius X Church in Templeogue on Monday, February 22.

This week, South Dublin County Mayor Ed O’Brien opened an online Book of Condolence for people living within the county to express their sympathies.

Mayor O’Brien said: “I was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Emer Feely.

“We honour the work and contribution she made to the health service throughout her life.

“We also thank Dr Feely, her husband, Dr Tony Holohan, and their entire family for the dedication they have shown to us all throughout this pandemic."

The council will share the messages with the Holohan family after the Book of Condolence closes on Monday, March 15.

According to a message on RIP.ie, Emer’s request was for family flowers only and if desired, donations can be made Terenue College’s 6th year GoFundMe campaign for the Irish Cancer Society and Our Lady’s Hospice HERE
