Senator Lynn Ruane launches College Awareness Week 2016

It advocates for students to have the choice to pursue the course best suited to their interests, abilities and future plans, whether that is a PLC qualification, an apprenticeship or a university degree.

The campaign places particular emphasis on encouraging students of all ages and social and economic backgrounds to consider their options and become ‘college-ready’.

Over 1,000 nationwide events will be held in schools, afterschool programmes, Colleges of Further and Higher education, training centres, libraries and businesses, among others.

College Awareness Week is sponsored by AIB and Perrigo. It is supported by the Higher Education Authority, the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals, SOLAS – the Further Education and Training Authority, IBEC, the Institute of Guidance Counsellors and the Trinity Access Programme.
