Share company details in a simple tap with Smart Card

A CREATIVE agency used the challenge of Covid-19 to come up with an interesting new feature that makes sharing business details with associates as easy as a simple tap.

Tallaght-based Lunar Media recently launched the Smart Card, which contains essential information about the individual person and their organisation, and can be shared and added directly to the phone of a prospective contact.

“Normally at the end of a face-to-face meeting, you would say to the person, have a think, here is my business card, but in this case you hover the Smart Card over their phone, and the details pop up on their screen, it is really effective,” said Laura Maher, Business Development Manager Lunar Media.

“Usually, when swapping details, it takes time, but this is quick. It contains all the essential information, name, details, links to social media. When someone contacts you, their company logo pops up on your phone.”

Based on Level 3 in The Square, Lunar Media are a creative, marketing, technology agency that help businesses, large or small, transition into the digital world.

Laura continued: “We can do anything, a minimum of social media management or taking over the hosting of a website. Even if it is something small, just printing cards. It is a full services solution.

“We have been trying to diversify ever since Covid with the Square being closed so much. So we’ve launched Smart Business Cards and Tags.”

The Smart Card is equipped with NFC technology.

For older phones that don’t have NFC, there is a QR code on the back of the card.

Lunar Media also released Tags, which are similar to the Smart Cards.

“They can be used for anything,” said Laura.

“Commonly they stick to the back of your phone. The only difference is Tags don’t have a QR code, but a little NFC chip.

“Phones that are three years old won’t have the (NFC) tech, but most people are upgrading their phones. Anybody that pays by Google Pay has the feature in their phone.”
