Two arrested after guns seized on Naas Road and Long Mile Road

As part of an on going operation by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB) assisted by National Units, two cars were stopped earlier today in Dublin. 

A firearm and ammunition was recovered and two males were arrested.

One car was stopped on the Naas Road shortly before 3pm today, and during the course of a search of the car, a firearm and ammunition was recovered. A male (30's) was arrested. 

Shortly afterwards a second car was stopped on the Long Mile Road and the male (30's) driver was arrested.

Both are being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended in Dublin Garda stations.

Investigations are on going.
